Féis Spé Cairngorms Céilidh Trail

17 July, 2016 @ 3:00 pm

Free

Sunday 17th July will see a double whammy of music with an afternoon and an evening performance. The afternoon performance starts at 3 pm and will be a who’s who of the Féis Spé Cairngorms Céilidh Trail over the last 10 years, as tutors and pupils alike come together to play some fantastic music in celebration of 10 years of the Fèis Spè.

The evening performance will start around 9pm and will be the current members of the Féis Spé Cairngorms Céilidh Trail. The Cairngorms Cèilidh Trail is one of eight Cèilidh Trails organised by local Fèisean under the umbrella of Fèisean nan Gàidheal. The first Cèilidh Trail project, established by Fèis Rois in 1999, was designed to help teenage musicians develop their performance skills and to create a vibrant traditional music entertainment programme in the Highlands and now beyond. Over the last eleven years, the project has been replicated in other areas and has proved to be an over whelming success.

The band tours the National Park and surrounding area for two weeks in July then this year the Cèilidh Trail will visit Donegal in Ireland for a third week as part of our successful Colmcille exchange project.
