The Ollie West Band – We Watch The World Turning

24 July, 2018 @ 8:00 pm

£14

The Ollie West Band are a band based in Manchester, creating unique pop-fusion that has been compared to a blend between Billy Joel and Elbow and recognised by the likes of Neil McCormick and Dean Friedman. Fronted by singer, pianist, songwriter and arranger Ollie West, the band have been growing over the past 5 years and have become a musical force to be reckoned with. Following the release of their live album in August 2017, recorded with a 24 piece orchestral line up in the renowned RNCM Theatre, the band  announced their debut EP ‘We Watch The World Turning’  released on December 1st 2017 and are now taking their show on the road for the majority of 2018. Don’t miss out on this unique night of great live music! “I was really impressed with your stuff; you quite clearly have huge and very individual talent. There are obviously sensitive singer-songwriter elements, jazz fusion and something close to progressive rock and soft rock prevalent in the Seventies. What you are doing is so outside of the box that I am not sure there is any point in trying to shove it into any particular box. You’ve got talent, oodles of it.” – Neil McCormick“Excellent examples of pop/fusion; sophisticated changes, literate lyrics layered upon a fine groove.” – Dean Friedman, Songwriter“An infectious melody that’s pretty hard to get out of your head after listening” – Music in Time, on ‘So Far Away’
