On the 27th October the Highland Council launched phase two of their public consultation which includes proposals for cost savings, totalling £64m over the next four years, going forward from the 2014/15 financial year.

The proposals are likely to have an impact on all promoters with 10% cuts to the Highland Council Art Events fund in 15/16, and no guarantee of funding beyond that period – or at a minimum a further cut of 50%.

At a time when many promoters rely on this grant to programme, we would urge EVERY highland promoter to respond to the consultation.

You can access the Budget Consultation 2014 Phase 2 document here: Budget Consultation

The Council are collecting responses online here: Budget Response Survey

This survey is very important: it outlines The Highland Council’s proposals to save money and how these proposals may change the services they provide. This is your opportunity to let the council know how these proposals could affect your group and the wider community.

The deadline for participating in the survey is Friday 14th November.

In addition, a meeting organised by Highland Third Sector Interface is being held at Smithton Church, Inverness between 1-3pm on Wed 5 November. Please contact Sylvia at the Third Sector Interface to confirm your attendance.

You can also feed in your thoughts to the Highland Third Sector Interface by completing this survey: Highland Third Sector Interface survey
