The Touring Network is a membership organisation devoted to ensuring that the Highlands and Islands has a thriving cultural life. We support our members in a number of ways, building their capacity, knowledge and experiences to enable them to be their best.
In the wake of #metoo and other instances where bullying and sexual harassment claims have surfaced in the media, The Touring Network board and staff feel it is important for us all to take a strong stance on this issue. We request that members sign up to a code of conduct which states our intentions to work together in positive ways, and in doing so advocate for a no tolerance approach to negative behaviours.
A positive working environment is essential to a healthy sector; we are keen to contribute to this environment by creating the conditions in which bullying and harassment are not tolerated at any level within the organisation or its membership. To this end, we are asking all Touring Network members to sign a Code of Conduct which promotes a comfortable and dignified working environment.
We will also communicate this message to performers and other individuals working within the Network to help ensure that people are respected and valued for their contribution.
If required, we will support any promoter or performer to find ways to redress instances of bullying or harassment through appropriate sources and guarantee that any complaints will not encounter any form of reprisal or victimisation.
