Late Night Jazz with ‘Jess Abrams’ & ‘Andrea Turner’

27 September, 2014 @ 8:00 pm

£7

A sizzling set of traditional and contemporary jazz, evoking smoky late nights in the company of Nina Simone, Miles Davis, John Coltrane et al.

One-time Findhorn girl, Jess Abrams, is described by JazzFlits Magazine as a “storyteller who takes you along the road of precious memories”. Her albums “Growing Up” and the recently released “Cat Stevens Reconstructed” offer an eclectic collection of finely chosen songs infused with heartfelt tenderness and warmth. “When I’m singing” Jess says, “something happens. It liberates me. It’s my greatest joy and my constant longing.”

Andrea Turner is a singer, voice coach and visual artist from Forres who first fell in love with jazz in her early twenties. “All Blues and A Love Supreme became the soundtrack to my life” says Andrea. She studied classical music at Stevenson College in Edinburgh and has subsequently performed regularly at local and national venues developing a repertoire including jazz, music theatre, pop and folk.

Make no mistake, Jess Abrams is a class act.
