Tue 23 – Wed 24 Aug 2016 / Edinburgh

Following on from the session on Audience Development in July, our Youth Promoters will be visiting Edinburgh during the Fringe to take part in more training sessions focussed on Programming, Inclusion & Diversity.

This 2 day training session will be hosted by Out of the Blue Drill Hall and Fringe Central, and will include a variety of guest speakers:

  • Neil Butler from UZ Arts will inspire the Youth Promoters with tales of his early days as a student promoter in Brighton Folk Club, and his development into a producer of major international outdoor events;
  • Euan MacDonald and Antonia Lee Bapty from Euan’s Guide, will share tips on good practice in increasing access to events for disabled people and their carers;
  • Fiona MacLennan will introduce the Youth Promoters to Creative Carbon Scotland and the support they provide organisations to monitor their carbon footprint;
  • Helen Trew, Equalities & Diversity Officer from Creative Scotland, will lead an interactive session on Diversity & Inclusion in Programming;
  • and Robyn Jancovich-Brown, Participant & Industry Development Manager, will introduce us to the Emerging Producers Development Programme at Fringe Central.

In the evening, there will be plenty of Go See opportunities, since the event will be taking place during peak Edinburgh Festival season.
