Following a review of Go See, we will be piloting a new and improved model in 2017, which will see us select two promoters who are able to commit to attending 2 or 3 events and festivals throughout the year to act as Programme Ambassadors for The Touring Network.

The Programme Ambassadors will be supported by The Touring Network team to select a variety of shows to review, to assess their suitability for rural touring, and build relationships with the show producers and/or performers. They will then share their reviews and experiences with other promoters in the Network through video blogs (vlogs), blogs and social media posts, as well as by curating Collections of recommended shows on the new Tourbook, and being on the Gathering Showcase selection panel in 2018.

Are you interested in widening your knowledge and creative appreciation of live performance?

Are you available to attend events in Edinburgh during the weeks beginning 29 May and 21 Aug?

Are you able to commit the additional time required to plan your trips, to create and share your reviews afterwards, and to take part in the Gathering Showcase panel meeting in Spring 2018?

We are in search of two promoters – one new and emerging, and one established and experienced – who would be interested in taking part in this opportunity throughout 2017. The Touring Network will reimburse all associated travel, accommodation and ticket costs, as well as providing a daily allowance to cover other living expenses while attending the events.

If you are interested in being one of our Programme Ambassadors in 2017, and answered yes to the three questions above, please email Rhiannon by Fri 14 Apr outlining the following:

  • your reasons for taking part and what you would like to get out of the experience
  • what experience you have of reviewing performances and sharing them online
  • any ideas you have for events/festivals to attend
  • and a short biography of your programming and promoting experience.

A limited number of regular Go See bursaries will also still be available, on request, for those who wish to attend a specific event or visit another Touring Network promoter for inspiration or guidance. For further info and to apply, please click here
