Strathpeffer Pavilion Association is the charitable trust that operates the Strathpeffer Pavilion in Ross-shire in the Highlands of Scotland.  The Pavilion is a Grade 2 Listed Victorian building and their mission statement is “To preserve and promote the Pavilion as an active building, to ensure it serves the interests of all its users, to the benefit of the local and wider community. “

The Pavilion is used for a wide variety of events and functions. Primarily an arts venue it aims to put on a varied and eclectic programme of events for the benefit of their local community and the wider Highlands and Islands dispersed rural communities;  and also for visitors to Strathpeffer who are keen to sample the heritage and history of the Pavilion.

Role:

They have recently completed a staff restructure and are now seeking to appoint new board members with specific skills to enhance their existing board membership. The successful candidates will have excellent knowledge and experience of one or more of the following:

  • Finance and accounting
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing and Sales
  • Catering
  • HR

The successful candidates will be required to clearly demonstrate:

  • A commitment to the aims and objectives of Strathpeffer Pavilion
  • A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
  • Good, independent judgement
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Willingness to speak one’s mind
  • Understanding and acceptance of responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Experience of working and influencing at a strategic level
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Impartiality, fairness and confidentiality
